Seniors: Seniors you can vote on class song, motto, flower, and colors on Thursday, 2/20 & Friday, 2/21 at both lunches in the mall. You MUST have your current 2013-14 ID to vote.
It is time to begin applying for financial aid. You can complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (better known as the FAFSA form) on the following website: www.fafsa.gov. Seniors will be receiving a Guide to Federal Student Aid and other materials as soon as they become available. If you need assistance with this application, there are several resources available to you and your parents.
There will be a Financial Aid Workshop on Thursday, January 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the FHS auditorium. A representative from the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance will discuss financial aid and address any concerns and questions you or your parents have regarding the FAFSA form.
There is a free assistance program offered at Southeastern LA University as well as other local colleges on Sunday, February 16 from 2-4 p.m. This event, College Goal Sunday, is designed to assist with completing the FAFSA form.
Please remember you must complete the FAFSA to apply for financial aid and TOPS. Many colleges have a priority deadline as early as March so we encourage you not to wait. In addition, there are limited funds available in some Federal aid programs and funding is administered on a first come, first serve basis. Please apply as soon as possible.
The regular registration deadline for the February 8 ACT test is this Friday, January 10.
There are several new scholarships available. Please check out the scholarship file in the school counseling office.
